A study by the Ινστιτούτο Γεωργικών Ερευνών – Agricultural Research Institute was just published on the Journal of Environmental Management.
🔶The study reports the ORGANIKO LIFE+ findings, which show for the first time cumulative and daily N2O emissions from three different rain-fed crops that are important for Cyprus.
𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
🔵 Nitrous oxide emissions are very low in rain-fed Mediterranean-like climates.
🔵 Emission factors from organic N sources ranged from 0.25 to 0.03%.
🔵 Compost exhibited the lowest N2O emissions.
🔵 N2O fluxes had a seasonal variation and were crop-depended.
